Bwejuu and the Michamvi peninsula sit just north of Paje and are the quietest stretch of the southeast coast. Michamvi’s western side is the one place on the east coast where you can watch the sun set over water, across Chwaka Bay.

Why go north of Paje?
Bwejuu keeps the same wide lagoon and white sand as Paje with far fewer people. Hotels are spaced out along the palms, and evenings are genuinely quiet. It suits honeymooners, writers, readers and anyone who finds Nungwi too busy.
Continue up the peninsula to Michamvi and the coast turns: the Kae side faces west across Chwaka Bay, giving sunsets that the rest of the east coast never sees.

What should you know before staying?
There are fewer shops and restaurants outside the hotels, so plan transport if you like to eat out. Tides here are as strong as in Paje, and access to The Rock changes with them.
